C8 Corvette
Today, we're going to be doing something COMPLETELY different. There are going to be no memes, rather, this is a serious post about what I think about the new Corvette. I know that most of the hype has passed, but I think that this is still a really cool car and a revolutionary Corvette.
Now, as you already know, this Corvette is special. It is different from all of the other Corvettes ever made. It is the worlds first mid-engine corvette, and it is glorious.
The exterior is beautiful, it looks powerful, fast, and aggressive. This Corvette is very Ferrari-esque in its design. I think that the red exterior looks the best as red looks great on most sports cars. The rear wing is a cool design touch as it is very large and has a presence without being obnoxious.
While it looks good on the outside, it also is built well on the inside. The C8 only comes with an automatic transmission, an 8-speed dual clutch to be exact. This is disappointing for some as an automatic will take away the excitement, fun, and control that a manual offers, but the automatic is extremely fast and opens the car to a wider range of buyers. However, I do think that on the next generation C8, a manual transmission should be an option. The C8 is powered by the standard Corvette V8 with a little added horsepower. It boasts and impressive 495 HP, 470 pound-feet of torque, and an extremely impressive 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. To put that into perspective, this car has more horses than a Jaguar F-Type, torque that rivals a Ford Raptor, and a faster 0-60 than the Ferrari Portofino. This is a great car all around.
The final quality that will influence my opinion of this car is price. The new C8 starts at $60,000 which is amazing. This car is mid-engined, offers supercar level specs, and is very affordable. The new C8 is perhaps the best Corvette being sold today.
The C8 Corvette has been the cause of much hype lately. It was recently announced in April of this year and Chevrolet has already started to take orders.
